Women for tri training program // w4t
Beginning in 2016, Golden Gate Triathlon Club has been awarded a Women for TriClub Grant and as a result been able to offer programming for female members and local female triathletes. We are looking forward to yet another year of exciting programming for WFT.
The purpose of the Women for Tri Triathlon Club Grant Program is to support triathlon clubs in their efforts to increase female membership and engagement. To lead these efforts the GGTC created a Women for Tri Committee of members including: Brenda Bettencourt, Sandrine Micoleau, Kim Warne, Carla McKay, Susannah Brouwer, Carmen Goff and Sam Gager.

As a part of the Women for Tri program GGTC is engaging with top notch triathletes like Sarah Piampiano, Sarah Cameto, Laura Siddall, Laurence Delisle, Kate Ligler, Kate Major, Dorette Franks and Ashley Relf as well as local organizations such as The Bay Club and SF Parks and Recreation.

2020 W4T Fall Program
We know that 2020 wasn't the year that we anticipated and with limited races on the horizon, the Women For Tri Fall Training Program will take a group of beginner women and work on building a base for 2021, focusing on the mechanics and techniques needed to master the three disciplines in triathlon - swim, bike and run. The training program will begin September 12th and will run through November 21st.
This program is great for women who are perhaps newer to the sport and looking to focus on their technique in a small, personalized, group setting.

Self-motivated individuals that want to take on the challenge of triathlon training! Ideally you can swim 200 yards, ride a bike and run a few miles but we will also help you learn all three.
The group meets 2-3 times per week. Currently the plan will be to have group runs on Tuesday evenings, Thursday morning swims and Sunday morning group bike rides.
Workouts will be held both in Marin and San Francisco.
It would be great if we had enough time in the day to do everything we want and sometimes life gets in the way. You will have access to all the workouts for the program and can do as many or as few of the workouts that fit with your schedule.
You will need a bicycle and helmet, running shoes, swimsuit, goggles and a wetsuit. If you don't have these things yet, don't worry! The Coach will cover the basics of triathlon equipment in the beginning of the training program.
