EVENING Hawk Hill Solstice Spin:

A Winter Ride to Toast the Sun!

Join GGTC in celebrating the Winter Solstice with a casual sunset ride up to the top of Hawk Hill!

Twice a year, due to the fact that the Earth is tilted 23.5 deg around it's rotational axis, we experience either the longest or shortest day(s) of the year. These days are called the Summer and Winter Solstice, respectively. On these days, the path of the sun reaches the highest or lowest pathway through the sky. Early cultures attached great importance to these dates.

On this winter solstice (Thursday, December 21st), join Ambassador Nick M on a casual ride to watch the sun rise, set, or both from the top of Hawk Hill. Note that there are two events - sign up for whichever you intend to join!

Bring Your Own thermos with your beverage of choice to enjoy at the top - coffee in the morning, mulled wine in the evening? Yum. Mulled wine for both? We won't tell your boss. Dress warmer than you would for a normal ride, since we will likely linger for a bit to take in the view.

SUNRISE start time is 6:30a (roll at 6:35a). Sun rises at 7:21a.

SUNSET start time is 4:00p (roll at 4:05p). Sun sets at 4:54p.

Departing from the
GGB Visitor Center. Follow and meet at the top if you're a little late and missed the bus - The sun waits for no one!

Questions? Text Ambassador Nick M @ (920) 655-1661.
