GGTC Cycling Clinic: Descending 101 (Session 2)
Do you dread cresting the top of a hill, realizing that you are about to have to go back down it? Does the fear of crashing make you squeeze the brakes on every descent? Does people saying "don't brake in the corner" make you question their sanity?
Let's learn how to apply solid fundamentals to safe, downhill riding to overcome those fears! Note - this will not focus on descending speed, but rather on proper descending technique: Body/Pedal Positioning, Weight Distribution, Proper Braking, and Choosing a Safe Line. Once you feel more comfortable with descending, you'll hopefully feel more confident with going faster. We will have experienced descenders help guide you and show proper technique.
We will do repeats of Camino Alto road before Swim Practice. Hopefully there will be limited cars this early!
For safety, this event will be limited to 20 participants.
Info about the ride:
Make sure to bring LIGHTS, helmet, water, flat repair system, and a safety-first mindset! Signing the waiver is absolutely mandatory for this event.
