Name of The Ride: Ride the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge!
Short Description: The bike lane on the Richmond/San Rafael bridge is opening this weekend so join us for a casual, low-elevation ride from Orinda to SF via the Richmond/San Rafael and Golden Gate bridges. We will be taking BART to Orinda, riding along the San Pablo reservoir, through Richmond and over the bridge, then south over Camino Alto and through Sausalito, finishing at the Golden Gate Cafe in SF. This will definitely be a leisurely ride, so all abilities welcome, and there will likely be a coffee/food stop at some point!
Date:
Sunday 17th November
Rolling Time:
9am sharp. There is a BART to Antioch that arrives in Orinda from SF at 8.54am (departing Embarcadero at 8.29am). There is also a train arriving at 8.34am (departing 8.09am) if you're worried you might miss the second one!
Meeting Location:
Outside Orinda BART
Route Information:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31448153
Level of Ride: Intermediate ride, 40miles and under 2k elevation, most of which is Camino Alto and the climb out of Sausalito.
Drop: Semi-drop ride - please make sure you have the route as there will not be a sweep but the pace will be pretty steady. We will likely regroup as we're coming into Richmond, before we go over the San Rafael bridge, on the other side of the bridge, and before the Golden Gate.
Any social activity during or after: Coffee/food stops definitely on the table - most likely after the bridge, in Larkspur or Mill Valley. Open to suggestions!
