Event Description:

Well, you can't do any Triathlon racing, so maybe it's time to try a different kind of racing. That's right, under current regulations, Sailboat racing on San Francisco Bay is allowed provided all participants wear masks during the event and no more than three people per vessel (2 passengers + your captain - me).

This is the Corinthian Yacht Club Fall Series, every other Saturday from September 19th through Thanksgiving (9/19, 10/3, 10/17, 10/31, 11/14, 11/28). (note: please register for the date you want)

More details here: https://race.cyc.org/fs

I've entered my Islander 36 sailboat in the Long Course division (one race per day) of PHRF (Performance Handicap Racing Formula) and for non-spinnaker division to keep things simple. No experience required. PFDs (Personal Floatation Devices) are provided and are required to be worn at all times aboard. You may be asked to occasionally help pull on or hold onto a rope. It can get cold and windy out on the bay, so dress in layers with a waterproof outer shell and preferably white soled shoes. Also, bring drinks and snacks. Meet at Berkeley Marina D Dock by 9:30 to depart by 10 am latest. Start area is off the race deck of the CYC in Tiburon and the first gun is usually around noon, so it can take a while to get over there from Berkeley. After the race we will return to Berkeley as current orders prevent any post race gatherings. Once across the finish line, adult beverages may be consumed. We should be back at the dock by around 5 pm depending on how long the race course is, what the wind conditions are, and where the finish line is. Best to plan for the whole day. There is a toilet on board.

Send me a message if you have any questions. First come first served, though I can maintain a wait list, too, in case somebody needs to bail at the last minute for some reason.
