In addition to vaguely useful backcountry.com adds for $375.00 Titanium, Carbon, and Ceramic Look Pedals, accuweather brings you a long range weather forecast that is accurate within +/- 15 degrees. The Saturday forecast is mid 50’s which is chilly for this area. You know what keeps you warm? Gortex! You know what keeps you warm but is way cheaper than Gortex? Climbing!

Join Ambassador Wada for a nice toasty climb up Mt. Tam. Contestants will leave GGTC Sponsor the Presidio Sports Basement at 11:00am SHARP. Feel free to arrive early. The basement sells wind proof shoe covers, light weight jackets, gloves, arm warmes, knee warmers, PBR logo Cycling caps, gaiters (I remember when not everyone had one), and hand warmers that can be placed in… well I won’t tell you where you can put your hand warmers.

Cyclists will caravan past Tam High to the Equator Mill Valley for Coffee and stories about that time I did that climb, on an 8 speed steel triple Crank Unicycle while juggling. The Carvan will Left Face up Mt. Tam, going fast enough to keep warm, but not fast enough to sweat (which turns icy on the descent). Don’t want to do all of TAM? Fine! Study the Strava map above. There are turn around points at: Mill Valley Equator (20 mi Out and back), 4 corners (28 mi out and back), and BootJack (35 mi out and back). Any one of those climbs beats watching Notre Dame get upset by BC.

What to bring:

Cash, Credit Card, ID, Helmet, COLD WEATHER GEAR, Face Covering, Hydration, Nutrition, material to change a flat tire, positive attitude, and a cycling related anecdote for some point in the climb.
