Rice bars recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 cups cooked white short-grain rice
- 2tbsp maple syrup
- 2tbsp soy sauce / tamari
- Fillings of your choice: Bacon, Nut Butter, Banana, Jam, Nuts, Vegemite (!)
METHOD:
- Mix the soy sauce and maple syrup into your cooked rice. Mix vigorously! Make it a little pasty, even. Smooth the rice mix into two half-inch (height) squares. I like to use two sandwich baggies to shape it into two large squares, dividing the rice mixture in half. Chill for at least a couple hours (overnight!) in the fridge, nice and flat. When chilled, spread one of your rice squares with a filling of your choice - i like nut butter and bacon! Or Banana and Jam! Top with the other rice square and cut into mouth-sized squares. Wrap in foil and enjoy ricey goodness on your next ride!
