"Unofficial" Kezar Track (Sans Mario, Lead by Aaron)

Just because Mario isn't here for the rest of the year doesn't mean some of us can't continue to do the track workout at Kezar! In fact, did you know that Mario still sends us a weekly workout? Ritual and routine is important, so if you'd like to continue track runs, feel free to join Ambassador Aaron at the Kezar southeast bleachers at 6pm.

Bring your watch for timing, as we won't have people timing, but we can do the warmups, striders and a workout!

Aaron MAY bring some mulled wine to share after! And it is likely going to be raining, so make sure you have a way to keep your things dry.

Possible beer and/or burritos after! (Bring a mask and vax card for this.)

MARIO'S WORKOUT:

10-15:00 warmup

— Drills: A Skips, side shuffle, butt kicks, carioca, straight-leg runs, high knees

— 4-6 x 20-second strides to get your legs turning over a bit

— 1-3 rounds of

+ 2 x 90" @ 5K effort/pace (7/10 RPE) w/90" jog recovery between reps

+ 10' tempo run @ 1/2 marathon effort/pace (6/10 RPE or ~30-40" mile SLOWER than 5K pace) w/3' jogging recovery 

Note: 3 rounds is a LOT. 2 will be sufficient for most people. One is A-OK if you are just getting back into workouts.
