Due South! But not a Mountie or Moose in sight...

Join me, Burnsie, for a wee jaunt down south to Half Moon Bay. We will depart from the roadside in front of the   CONSERVATORY OF FLOWERS @ GOLDEN GATE PARK at 8:00am, so get there a little early.

INTERMEDIATE/MODERATE RIDE: Average 12 – 15 mph. Regroups along the way at the tops and major junctions. Medium pace and will vary throughout the ride generally. No Drops.

Rating this as a 4–Mostly rolling hills. Some steep Climbs.

Although I'm trying to keep the route as safe as possible, note there will be a lot of riding on main roads, especially along the 1 between Pacifica and Half Moon Bay. So please be wary of this if you are not confident in traffic or riding on the hard shoulder.

63 mi / 101km

4600 ft / 1405m

Home around 1pm/1:30pm

Cyclists will meet in Golden Gate Park and head out to the ocean where we'll kiss the coast the whole way south. Hopping off Skyline, there will be a strong climb through the neighbourhoods as we go up and over into Pacifica. From here, we'll be hanging on HWY 1 for a good portion towards Half Moon Bay, looping back along the coastal trail and back up the way we came.

On the way back just after Pacifica, we'll take a hard Right and spin up and over the hill towards towards South San Francisco, circling round San Bruno State Park eventually getting into the Excelsior. Then we'll climb back up Glen Park and continue in elevation as we hit the top of Twin Peaks. We're pretty much done at this point but I'm sure we'll find a pub on the descend back down through Haight street towards the park.

Required items: Positive Attitude, Face Mask, Hydration, Nutrition, Cash, Credit Cards, ID, material to change a flat tire, Helmet, dad jokes.
