VIRTUAL WORKSHOP  ·  TUESDAY, JUNE 30, 2026  ·  6:00-7 PM

Strength Training for Runners with Dr. Nicole Sabes, PT, DPT  ·  Renew Physical Therapy

Most runners train harder. The fastest ones train smarter.

What the research says:

  • 35% longer before hitting the wall with consistent strength + plyometric training. (Zanini et al., 2025)

  • 11.6% faster race times in strength-trained runners vs. 1.3% in run-only groups. (Retos, 2024)

  • 2.4 times less likely to get injured with targeted hip and foot strengthening. (Taddei et al., 2020)

  • 900+ athletes, 31 studies showed that consistent strength training (80% 1ROM +plyometrics) improvements in running economy 2-8% at every level. (Llanos-Lagos et al., 2024)

Strength training isn't optional add-on work it's a central driver of performance.
