GGTC AND THE Bay Area's Regional Stay Home Order

With the recent changes in COVID governance, we wanted to inform you of how GGTC plans to address the new policies.

As you can imagine, we are struggling with how to provide you safe workouts for your physical and mental well being and a sense of community, while also abiding by the local and state guidance for COVID safety and prevention. Being that much of the governance pertains to business practices and social restrictions in addition to navigating the many exceptions, we are trying to adapt our policies to continue GGTC workouts while following the directives to try to keep you safe.

Until further notice, we will continue to limit the number of members able to join club workouts. Registration will be mandatory and members are expected to follow COVID guidelines, including wearing a mask at workouts, keeping your distance and, most importantly, not attended events if you are sick.

This is an ever-evolving situation and the Board is keeping a close eye on the local, regional and state guidance in order to guide our policy in addition to monitoring the numbers put out by the Departments of Public Health. While we are not experts in the field, we are taking all data into account in guiding our decisions. We do realize that there is a differing of opinions and trust that you will make your own decisions while respecting ours.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns or would like to discuss further president@ggtc.org.

The following rules apply to all workouts:

  • A mask or face covering MUST be worn. This will be strictly enforced by those leading the workouts. We want to ensure all members take this seriously in order to protect themselves as well as fellow athletes.
  • All workouts will require registration in advance. Please only register if you are 100% certain you will join. In the event that you may need to cancel, do so as early as possible in order to open a slot to other interested members.
  • If you arrive late to your designated time slot, you will only be allowed to join the next scheduled group ONLY IF there is a no show. Otherwise, you will be asked to workout on your own.
  • Do not bring a friend or other members to a workout they have not registered for.
  • If you travel and stay outside the Bay Area, you must quarantine for 10 days. Do not attend any group workouts during your quarantine.
  • Finally, if you are feeling any symptoms of illness, please DO NOT attend any group workout!

These rules apply even if you have received the COVID vaccine or have recently had a negative COVID test result after travelling.

Below you’ll find a list with further information for each of the offerings in our club. Be sure to keep an eye on the weekly newsletter and social media channels for any additional updates. These arrangements are new to everyone, so please bear with us as we fine tune and make adjustments along the way.

Remember, this is your club. If you have any suggestions, never hesitate to let us know. Of course, if you feel we are doing a GREAT JOB we’d also love to hear from you. Email membership@ggtc.org with any feedback.

Swim

Sharing swim equipment, such as body glide, swim caps and goggles, will not be allowed.

Bike

Members will be required to register their attendance at a bike ride on the GGTC calendar. Rides will be limited to a maximum of 10 members per group, with the Board and

Ambassadors ensuring we have a sufficient number of ride leaders. The meeting point for the ride will be disclosed in an email to registered members 12 hours prior to the ride starting and we will take a roll-call before rolling out.

Please ensure your mask remains in place and be sure to use proper social distancing etiquette. Remember to always be respectful of the communities which we are visiting by following the rules and being a good representative of our club.

As with all rides, members are required to bring their own water bottles, sunscreen, food, and flat tire kit. Sharing or passing items around will not be permitted.

Run

Per city ordinance, all group runs are cancelled until further notice.

Social Events & Member Meetings

Until guidelines change, we’ll still be holding Happy Hours and Member Meetings over Zoom.
