Sad there are no Ironman races this year? Try a double century. it is a bit easier, and this flat one is a good introduction!

    What: a 200 mile bike ride, ~14k'.

Where: Leaving from 5am at Conservatory of Flowers.

    Course: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/37271651

    When: 5am-6pm

Who: lead by James. 4152486493 for questions.

What to bring: 250 cals/hour of food, assuming 12 hours of riding, and electrolytes to add to your water bottles. Bring two tubes in addition to the normal bike gear, and make sure your bike is in good working order.

Qualifications: you should be able to ride 120 miles before attempting a double.

Comments: This ride will be self supported. There will be at least 1 coffee stop in the morning, and a nice lunch stop somewhere between 100-130 miles. This won't be as tiring as a full-distance triathlon, as long as you can complete a 120 mile ride and are diligent about eating.

Optional: If you wish to do the 200 and get California Triple Crown Credit, register here: https://carmelvalleydouble.wordpress.com/

Sprint and Olympic Distance Training Program by Dahlz Performance Coaching Welcome to GGTC’s 19th year of its Olympic Distance training Program!

This training program is designed for both Sprint and Olympic distance races taking place in the Fall. This program will aim to target the Marin Triathlon currently scheduled to be held on October 24th. Should the target race get cancelled, we will plan to organize our own in-person triathlon at the conclusion of the program for all Oly participants, so long as we are able to safely do so while complying with any state and local mandates that may be in effect at that time.

As currently planned, this program will follow the traditional Oly Training Program structure of 3-4 group, coached workouts per week along with additional on-your-own workouts. The group workouts will be structured such that we are able to meet all state and local requirements and recommendations surrounding keeping ourselves and our community safe from the spread of COVID-19. This program is designed specifically to match your level of fitness and ability.

John Dahlz, a veteran triathlon coach and accomplished professional triathlete, will lead this ten-week training program along a team of captains and assistants.

Sprint Distance Racers will swim .5 mile, bike 12.4 miles and run 3.1 miles. Olympic Distance Racers will swim .92 mile, bike 25 miles, and run 6.2 miles. When you cross the finish line you will experience a feeling that is beyond compare!

It seems like 2020 is a bust, but that's no reason for your mind and body to become one as well! Now's the time to focus on the little things we tend to neglect during race season - STRENGTH!

Join Coach Morgan for a butt kicking workout every Tuesday morning at 6:15am.

Strength will be held at the  Palace of Fine Arts!

    Rules are:

    • A mask or face covering MUST be worn. This will be strictly enforced by those leading the workouts. We want to ensure all members take this seriously in order to protect themselves as well as fellow athletes.

    • All workouts will require registration in advance. Please only register if you are 100% certain you will join. In the event that you may need to cancel, do so as early as possible in order to open a slot to other interested members.

    • Do not bring a friend or other members to a workout they have not registered for.

    • Finally, if you are feeling any symptoms of illness, please DO NOT attend any group workout!
