* WINTER EDITION: 4:45PM Meeting Time, 5PM IN WATER!
Join Aaron W & the Polar Bear Crew for a perimeter swim at Aquatic Park. We plan to meet at 4:45pm on the WEST bleachers (usual spot, left of the museum as you face the water). If you have not done a perimeter before or you are a beginner and have questions, send Aaron W a note on Slack! (Swim is ~1400 yards with two meetup points and our pace ranges from 1:40 - 2:10 per 100 yards.)
You may want to have a floating buoy for your belongings if we don't have a bag watcher. (We update Slack when we do have someone to watch our stuff.) If you keep things in your car, make sure they are well hidden. Some of us wear a blinking light on our goggle straps for safety, visibility, and helping us see each other, as it does get a little dark when we are finishing. These can be purchased on Amazon (Adventure Lights Guardian Expedition Light.) Not required, but nice to have!
We will be putting our toes in the water promptly by 5pm. After the swim we will hang out and drink mulled wine and snack on stuff! Feel free to bring snacks or beverages for afterwards as well, or contribute red wine for next week's mulled wine. You are always welcome to just come hang out and not swim, too!
Make sure to have a bright swim cap (or light), CLEAR goggles, body glide, wetsuit, thermal hood, etc... note that the water in winter can get to low 50's, so you may need to invest in thermal gear, a swim parka, swim light, bucket and Thermos for hot water after, etc.
Any questions, Slack Aaron W! I am happy to answer any of your open water swimming questions. We have some winter themed swim caps for sale if you are interested! Inquire within!

The best week of the year! A week where YOU swim 6 separate workouts over a span of 8 days.
This is self guided, meaning you will likely be swimming on your own during lap swim at a public pool. We highly encourage you to find friends to swim with, but there will not be organized swims with coaches, aside from our regularly scheduled swims with JD.
Please note, ANY coached masters workouts DO COUNT towards Hell Week.
You’ll become a better swimmer!!! And you’ll get a cool sticker!! And maybe win a prize! Each workout counts as one entry into the raffle, so the more you swim, the more likely you are to win something! Prizes to be announced on Slack!
We want Hell Week to be challenging AND fun for anyone who dares to attempt it. We do NOT want anyone to think they are too slow, not good enough, or worried about injuries.
Please email (swim@ggtc.org) or message Jojo on Slack if you have any questions!
There's no Tam swim this week so we’ll head to Aquatic Park, put on our wetsuits, and hop into the bay! For information on our swims, check out this page with maps.
This swim does not have a coach or a lifeguard. We might not have a bag watcher, so you may want to bring a floating buoy for your belongings. If you leave any items in your car please make sure they are well hidden. If we do have a bag watcher a message will be posted in the swim Slack channel.
Bring friends, snacks, drinks, and anything else you'll need to warm up after!
Where: Aquatic Park West Bleachers (Google Maps) When: We'll meet at 9am and aim to be in the water by 9:15am Who: We welcome all skill levels as long as you're a comfortable swimmer. If you're unsure, please reach out to Tamara on Slack to talk it out.
Questions? Reach out to Tamara Kohler on Slack. You can check out the live temperature at ggtc.org/swim.

Are you looking to gain more confidence on your bike, get better at riding in groups, or want to go on faster, longer rides? Join us for a cycling skills clinic with ambassador Nick Crispie where we'll work on some basic to intermediate skills to help you become a better cyclist.
We'll meet at the Polo Fields (northern entrance) and start with work on some basics and if there's time, we'll head to the Presidio and progress to more advanced practice.
The limit for this initial session is 15 riders to keep it manageable and for individual attention, but we will look hold more sessions in the future if there is additional interest.
While geared towards those who are earlier in their cycling journey, the goal is for a wide range of cyclists to get something out of this session. A teaser of some of the things we'll cover and practice, time permitting:
Please message Nick C on slack if you have any questions!

Join us as we tackle one of the greatest challenges Marin has to offer us -- our local summit, Mt. Tam East Peak, via four ways up! We'll be riding the route in the following order: from Fairfax → from Mill Valley → from Bofax → from Stinson Beach.
We'll regroup briefly at the base of each climb and at the top, but these stops will be time constrained to make sure we finish before we run out of daylight. This will be a climb at your own pace ride. This was a lot of fun last year, so we're hoping to have a great group out again for the day.
Come join us for as many Tam summits as you wish to do (be it 1, 2, 3, or all). Once you've had your fill of East Peak, feel free to roll home after your last rep. We'll celebrate our accomplishment at Pizza Hacker for a well-deserved dinner post ride!
This is a very long day on the bike, please come prepared with enough nutrition, there is water and a bathroom at the top of East Peak. Please download the route and come prepared according to the essentials checklist on our website!
Reach out to Nick Crispie on Slack for any questions! If you are curious about other masochistic biking adventures, consider checking out #death-ride-2026 on Slack as well.

With so many members racing Escape From Alcatraz this year, we're introducing a short, Escape from Alcatraz training session, led by SDP and masters swim coach, John Dahlz (aka JD).
JD will be joining us for one in-person coached training session a week. The rest of the program will integrate with the club's weekly workouts (track, AP swim, coached bike workout), with the board and ambassadors leading other group workouts. All workouts will be available in advance on Training Peaks.
The program will comprise five weeks of Training Peaks workouts, one in-person coached session with JD each weekend, a virtual course preview, and a great group of teammates to train with. All this for just $125.
IMPORTANT POINT - This is not a beginner program!!! This program rolls on from the end of the SDP and WTT programs and is open to those who took part in the programs OR have prior triathlon experience. Unfortunately, we don't have the time to train people who are completely new to the sport.
Questions reach out to Craig MacLellan on Slack or email him at membership@ggtc.org
