Welcome to GGTC’s Long Distance Program (LDP)!
Perhaps you have been doing Sprint and Olympic distance triathlons and are looking to move up in distance. Maybe you excel at either swimming, cycling, or running and are looking for a program to refine the other disciplines. Led by coaches, Jaffa Prince and Tim Fleming, the Long Distance Program is designed to give you the skills and experience to successfully complete a 70.3.
This 10-week program will follow a structure of 3 group, coached workouts per week along with additional on-your-own workouts. This program is designed specifically to match your level of fitness and ability.
Questions? Reach out to Andy Ia - vicepresident@ggtc.org
With so many members racing Escape From Alcatraz this year, we're offering a short, Escape from Alcatraz training program, led by SDP and masters swim coach, John Dahlz (aka JD).
JD will be joining us for one in-person coached training session a week. The rest of the program will integrate with the club's weekly workouts - track, AP swim, coached bike workout). All workouts will be available in advance on Training Peaks.
The program will comprise five weeks of Training Peaks workouts, one in-person coached session with JD each weekend, a virtual course preview, and a great group of teammates to train with. All this for just $125.
IMPORTANT POINT - This is not a beginner program!!! This program rolls on from the end of the SDP and WTT programs and is open to those who took part in the programs OR have prior triathlon experience. Unfortunately, we don't have the time to train people who are completely new to the sport.
Questions reach out to Craig MacLellan on Slack or email him at secretary@ggtc.org

Every spring, the best ultrarunners in the world gather in the Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee to attempt the world's hardest endurance event - the Barkley Marathons.
Since the race's inception in 1986, only 20 people have completed the full, 100+ mile distance. What makes this race so special? There is no website or athlete guide. There is no set route. Runners navigate the wilderness using only a map and compass, collecting pages from hidden books to confirm completion of the various loops that constitute the course.
A couple of important things to clarify:
How does this work?
Who is this for?

Come and join the fifth annual GGTC Century Bike Ride in partnership with Sports Basement! Registration is required to participate and is $25.
The Century Ride this year will take members north across the Golden Gate Bridge to Stinson via Four Corners, continue north to Point Reyes, and back down through Nicasio and Fairfax. Hitting two iconic climbs with Mount Vision and Big Rock. Pay attention because these are out-and-backs! This ride is the final event for the Century Program, and is open to all GGTC members.
This is a supported ride! There will be 3 GGTC aid stations along the route and an extra water & regrouping point at mi 25 in Stinson (not GGTC supported). Our aid stations will provide water, electrolytes, and snacks. There will also be a lunch stop with sandwiches and more snacks. While we are supplying nutrition along this route, it is also recommended that you bring your own nutrition as well since this will be a looong ride. Each stop will also have porta-potty or bathroom access. We will also have a sag wagon to help with unforseen mechnicals and to make sure no one is left behind.
There will be 4 pace groups ranging from 11 mph avg. speed to 20 mph avg. speed, with the group that will take the most time leaving the earliest from Sports Basement. The designated regroup and refuel stops are listed below:
